Dr. Shaina, Lola and Dr. Jay
Dr. Jay Felsenstein
Dr. Jay Felsenstein grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Columbia University with a BA degree in Biology. “Dr. Jay” graduated from the State University of New York School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook. He received his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, American Society of Dentistry for the Children, and the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr. Jay likes to play the bass guitar, go to concerts and Yankee games, and spend time with his children and grandchildren.
Dr. Shaina Felsenstein
Dr. Shaina Felsenstein grew up in Manalapan, New Jersey. She attended Rutgers University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
After college, Dr. Shaina attended UMDNJ where she received her Master Degree in Biomedical Science. Dr. Shaina then went on to attend Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. She graduated in the top of her class, receiving the Pierre Fauchard Award from the International Honorary Dental Organization.
While at Nova, Dr. Shaina volunteered her time locally and on mission trips, providing dental care to those in need. Dr. Shaina completed her pediatric specialty training at Long Island Jewish Cohen Children’s Hospital, where she was appointed chief resident in her last year. It was here that Dr. Shaina developed the specialized skills needed to treat children, each on an individual basis.
In her spare time, Dr. Shaina likes to paint, play with her dog Lola and spend time with her family.
Dr. Jacklyn Brown
Dr. Jackie is a board certified pediatric dental specialist originally from Long Island, New York. Deciding at an early age to become a pediatric dentist, she pursued a combined degree program at the University at Buffalo for both her undergraduate and dental education. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from both programs and gained membership into the Omega Kappa Upsilon dental scholastic society. While in dental school, she was given the opportunity to help children in need by volunteering at a dental clinic in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and continues to love giving back to the community whenever possible.
After completing her dental education, Dr. Jackie obtained her certificate in pediatric dentistry at Cohen Children’s Hospital in NY, where she met and became fast friends with Dr. Shaina! She is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Jackie is committed to providing the highest quality of dental care to children of all ages, and strives to make every dental experience fun, comfortable, and rewarding.
In her free time, Dr. Jackie enjoys reading, shopping, travel, and step aerobics. She is excited to be moving to New Jersey and exploring all it has to offer with her husband, Zach and their baby, Lily.
Tracey and Krysten
Tracey has been a registered dental assistant since 1994. She began at Kids Dental Kare in 1990. For the past eight years, Tracey has been our office manager and she supervises the day to day operations of the dental practice. She handles all aspects of insurance and is extremely knowledgeable in that area. Tracey enjoys a nice red wine and spending time with her friends and doggy. She loves to travel and is an excellent cook who loves to try new recipes.
Krysten is the newest member of the KDK team. She comes from a large family and considers her siblings to be her best friends. She feels extremely blessed by her previous experiences and love of art and music.
Monique and Ruth
Monique is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. She has been practicing dental hygiene for 12 years and has been a part of the Kids Dental Kare team for 10 years. She is passionate about working with children, especially those with special needs. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and taking long walks with her dogs.
Ruth began her post high school education studying child psychology at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, VT. Transferring with an A.S. degree to Fones School of Dental Hygiene in Bridgeport, CT, she graduated with her R.D.H./B.S degree in dental hygiene. Over her 33 year career, she has worked in periodontal and general practices; however pediatrics is her real passion. Other interests outside of work include music, sports, traveling, spending time outside while camping and gardening, but mostly she enjoys being with her family and friends.
The Dental Assistants
Tina, Johanna and Debbie
Tina has been a dental assistant for 20 years. Tina worked for a general dentist for 10 years and then went on to pursue her education. Tina is a graduate of Ocean County College where she received an associates degree in Liberal Arts. Tina has been a part of the Kids Dental Kare team since April, 2014. Kids Dental Kare has been Tina’s first experience in an all pediatric office. She enjoys working with children as she has three of her own who are her pride and joy.
Johanna has been a dental assistant for 19 years. She went to Ocean County Vocational School. She worked for an endodontist for 7 years and then began working at Kids Dental Kare, where she has been working for 12 years. She loves working here and loves working with kids. She is a very friendly and loving, caring person. She loves spending time with her family and friends. She loves to smile and believes a smile is everything. When you smile, everyone smiles with you.
In 1975, Debbie got a job in a General Dentist Office. She worked there for 15 years. After the doctor retired, she went to work for a periodontist. She worked there for 10 years. She has been with Kids Dental Kare for 14 years. “The kids are funny and challenging which I enjoy very much”. She enjoys vacationing with her husband and spending quality time with her 4 grandchildren.
